To use Gorilla Glue effectively, the surfaces must be clean and tight-fitting. Gloves should be worn to avoid skin contact, as the glue can stain skin and ruin clothes. First, lightly dampen one surface with water. For non-porous surfaces, such as glass and metal, and dense hardwoods, scratch up the surfaces first and lightly dampen both surfaces prior to gluing. Do not add water to the bottle.
Next, spread a thin layer of glue on the other surface. Gorilla Glue will foam 3 to 4 times in volume, so do not over-apply. Clamp the objects together for 1-2 hours, using heavy objects if necessary. The strength of the bond line improves with better clamping, and the full cure takes 24 hours.
After each use, wipe the nozzle clean with a dry cloth and tightly replace the lid. For bottle sizes 4 oz. and larger, it is recommended to squeeze out any excess air from the bottle before tightly replacing the cap and storing in a cool, dry place. This helps eliminate moisture in the bottle. Always store Gorilla Glue away from children and animals.
